The user may merge multiple PDF files into one single PDF and also print the files by date order using the Doc Date as the file name. PDF merges should be limited to 1,000 pages as large PDFs may not open and print.
Step-By-Step Instructions Step 1: Use the Doc Date Field The standard date format must be YYYY-MM-DD (E.g. 2010-09-19) Step 2: Create Download Briefcases There are two ways to create download briefcases within LEP. 02- From the Document Viewer page. The user may export to a briefcase the current document that is opened by clicking on the Export Briefcase hyperlink in the upper right corner of the screen. See Download Briefcase for more information. Step 3: Customize the Download Briefcase Dialog Box
Click Export To Briefcase to open the dialog box. Select Using Doc Dates from the Name Files drop down. This is how the PDF file will look:
Step 4: Merge Download Briefcase Go to the Case>Download Briefcase page and select the PDFs documents to be merged by the Batch Title and click Create Merged PDF located in the PDF Merge section. Only processed downloads will be merged. Do not merge a batch if it is still processing. The user has the option to insert a blank page between each separate document by selecting the Insert Separator Sheet. Click the Download hyperlink to open. In some cases, a browser version may automatically start the download process after waiting a few seconds. The browser should prompt what to do with the file through a dialog box, asking whether to Save or Open the compressed (zipped) folder. It is best to save the file on a local computer. For immediate access to the file select Open. We recommend using the WINRAR utility. Folders Structure Included in Merged Briefcase ![]() In addition to the Originals, PDF and Redacted (if applicable), there will be a sub-folder called PDFMERGED containing the single PDF file with merged pages within it.
Redacted Documents
By default LEP will merge the redacted versions of the PDFs documents exported to a briefcase. The first page will be the email body and attachments on the subsequent pages in order. |
