Location:  Analysis->Research. 


General


The Research page provides the user with the option to organize legal research (e.g., applicable cases, statutes or articles). 



Issues

This feature provides the user with the option to filter down Research topics by selecting an existing Issue or creating a new Issue with a brief description. 



Research Topics

To add new Legal Research click on Create New Research and complete the input form, as shown below, using any or all of the available standard fields.  Click Update to save.


Research Fields General Definition

Topic: Title of the specific research topic, followed by a brief summary of the topic.  
Extraction: Cut and paste direct quotes from cases or exact language from cases. 
AuthorityName and cite of an authority, if applicable. Type is broken down into three (3) standard types: Case Law, Statute, Other.
LinksAllows the user to maintain up to three links per authority.
 
Show Columns

The feature allows the user to add or remove columns from view based on available standard research fields. 



Add/Remove Selected Research

This feature allows the user to add or remove research to an existing Issue.



Export Legal Research

This feature allows the user to download selected research into an Excel file. Simply select the research topics to download and click Export to Excel.
