Viewing PDF documents

T
he Lexbe eDiscovery Platform (LEP) uses the Browser PDF plugin installed on the user's computer and associated with the PDF file extension for displaying PDF documents. Depending on the plugin settings, the PDF will either display in-line or open as a separate PDF document. The default setting is to open PDFs within the browser window.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

LEP incorporates a fully functional version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. This functionality will pop up in the upper right and lower right corners of the screen (Browser dependent).

Internet Explorer

Go to Manage Add-ons to verify if the Adobe extension is enabled. See Manage Add-Ons for more information.
In LEP, open the PDF to review in the Document Viewer->PDF or Page tabs.
Place the mouse on any area of the PDF to open the Adobe toolbar menu and click on the Adobe item again.

This will open
all the features of Adobe Acrobat Reader in the Document Viewer, including Find Text.
Enter the keyword to search within the current document and click next to find all the occurrences of the word.

Firefox

Install and activate the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox/Tools->Add-ons->Plugins.
In LEP, open the PDF to review in the Document Viewer->PDF or Page tabs.
Enter the keyword to search within the current document. Click Find to view all the occurrences of the word or use the Highlight all option to view all occurrences of the word simultaneously.

Chrome

Chrome Browser includes a built in PDF viewer. The current version of this plugin does not allow searching inside the PDF directly. Instead, either search within the HTML or Text tab or save the PDF and open it in Acrobat reader and search it.

Saving and Moving to the Next Document

To either save or save and go to the next document automatically, use the Save button and Auto Advance checkbox.
