In & Out Processing Report
Overview
Lexbe offers two In & Out Processing services to convert native electronically stored information (ESI) to load files suitable for loading to all major eDiscovery review platforms. These services are Native Processing+ to Native/PDF, and Native Processing+ to TIFF.
The Native Processing+ (to Native & PDF) for Review service includes automated processing to extracted native files and PDFs of supported file types; OCR of supported image files; Bates numbering of generated PDF files; placeholder file generation of unconverted files; standard production load files in DAT/OPT, DII and XLSX formats. No hosting in a Lexbe eDiscovery Platform included or required.
The Native Processing+ (to TIFF) for Review service includes automated processing to extracted native files, text-based PDFs and Group IV single-paged TIFFs of supported file types; OCR of supported image files; Bates numbering and embossing of generated PDF & TIFF files; placeholder file generation of unconverted files; standard production load files in DAT/OPT, DII and XLSX formats.
Report
The final processing report includes pertinent information about the data ingested including total document count, total GBs, total page count and other project details. The processing report includes three exception tables that identify documents that may need special attention. Those are explained in further detail below.
Placeholders
The Lexbe eDiscovery Platform (LEP) converts files to PDF or TIFF as part of ESI automated processing. If a file is not converted, LEP generates a placeholder page and flags the file as either Failed to Convert or Unsupported File Type.
Failed to Convert Table
Standard file types may fail to convert for a variety of reasons, including file corruption, file type misidentification, print or data extraction issues, and password protection.
Unsupported File Type Table
Files that are unsupported or are unable to be converted to PDF will not auto-convert. Most commonly these include video files, audio files, database files etc. For any placeholder file, the original file is always maintained and provided in the Originals folder of the data export. In some cases, manual conversion is possible with the assistance of Lexbe's Professional Services team.
Partially Expanded Container File Table
Any container file (.zip, .rar, .pst, .7z) that failed to fully expand is listed on the Partially Expanded Containers table. These files can fail to expand due to password protection or low level corruption. The original file is maintained and provided in the Originals folder of the export. Lexbe's Professional Service team can investigate the specific file(s) upon request to provide further information or attempt to manually repair and convert.
