Tagging

The Tagging section is part of the Discovery Tab from the Document Viewer and allows the user to identify documents for a discovery production and display in the discovery production window within the Lexbe eDiscovery Platform (LEP). While looking at a document, the user may edit the general tag data and enter information needed for a privilege log.

Custom Tagging within the Document Viewer

Field titles and tags are used to identify documents and associate with multiple specific issues established in a case.

The user may edit the Disc Tab by clicking on a link to a document in LEP from Search, Browse or Facts & Issues pages. Custom Sections created by the user will be visible. Click the down arrow next to a section to expand and view the contents.

Check (or fill in text on text boxes) and save as part of the coding process. All the changes made into the Discovery tab can be either saved or canceled. Click on the words located at the right top corner of the screen.

Custom Coding Fields

When new coding fields are added to any document uploaded into LEP, these coding fields will also be displayed as subsections under the Discovery tab from the Document Viewer.

Adding Coding Sections (Text Box or Check Box)

Custom coding fields are organized into expandable sections. The first step is to set up one or more sections to contain and organize fields. Examples of section names might include: Deponents, Case Issues, etc.

To create a coding section:

Under Management>Manage Custom Coding, click Add Coding Section.

A new window will open in order to create new custom fields (tags), e.g.State. A new coding section will display in the main screen of the Edit Custom Coding Fields.

To create fields under the new Coding Section, click Add Coding Field. A new window will open in order to create the options for the coding section. To view the new Coding Section and Field(s), click on any link to the document in LEP (from Search, Browse or Facts & Issues pages).

NOTE: All fields must be located in a Section or the fields will not display on the Document Viewer.

The user(s) may add or delete a custom coding field/ section at any time. Click the Edit or Delete buttons located in the main screen of Edit Custom Coding Fields under Management>Manage Custom Coding. Once a section or field has been deleted, the action cannot be undone.
